I learned this the hard way as I was riding up there one Saturday in the middle of June and had run out of water. I tried to use the campground water faucets but they were dry - to be turned on the next day. The water is cold and plentiful. Other than the Woodland Cash store (about 2 miles from Francis) there is no public water until the summit of Wolf Creek Pass.
